Questions about the change
What if I cannot use online services?
The agency scheduled claim phone lines and local offices to close during this outage. Customer-service phone support is scheduled to resume after launch. Phone certification and filing a claim by phone are ending; speaking to customer service is a separate service. The published downtime guidance lists mail and fax as options for sending information, and Michigan Works! offices for work registration and basic help. Those staff cannot access UIA claim services. Official access and support details ↗
Do I need to start my claim again?
The agency says existing claim information carries over. An existing claim does not need to be filed again solely because the system changes. Read the official account guidance ↗
What changes after the new system opens?
The agency says certification and benefit payments will be weekly. Phone certification and filing a claim by phone are ending; customer-service phone support is a separate service scheduled to return after launch. Read the official launch guidance ↗
