Before, alongside and beyond the build

Research, brand

No outcome, agency decision, media coverage or legal result is guaranteed.

Research

Understand the issue.
Examine the evidence.

A question worth investigating does not need to become an app. We can deliver the research itself: a sourced account, an evidence review or a comparison of possible approaches.

Understand the issue

Investigate the context, the people affected and the questions that matter.
Open details

Get a clearer picture before choosing a response.

Start with a question, a confusing situation or a decision that needs better evidence. We define what needs to be understood, examine the available sources and separate supported findings from interpretation and unknowns.

Research and strategy can be complete commissions on their own. We agree the question, deliverables and fixed fee before work begins.

What is included

  • An agreed research question and boundaries
  • A sourced account of the context and relevant issues
  • Findings, uncertainties and questions that need further work

Organize the evidence

Turn scattered records into a sourced timeline and a story people can follow.
Open details

Make the record understandable and traceable.

We can organize documents, dates, claims and supporting material into a coherent account. Sources stay connected to the statements they support, with missing records and conflicting accounts made visible.

Sensitive records need an agreed private handling process. We help research and organize; legal advice and representation remain with qualified professionals.

What is included

  • An organized source list and timeline
  • Claims linked to supporting or conflicting material
  • A readable account with clear evidence gaps

Investigate the options

Find out what is possible, what is supported and what still needs testing.
Open details

Compare credible approaches before committing time or money.

We research possible responses to a defined problem, check the assumptions behind them and compare their requirements and limits. The result can inform a business decision, a service, a product or a request for assistance.

Research and strategy can be complete commissions on their own. We agree the question, deliverables and fixed fee before work begins.

What is included

  • A researched comparison of possible approaches
  • Requirements, constraints and unresolved assumptions
  • A decision brief or a proposal for the first useful test

Strategy

Choose a direction.
Make a practical plan.

Decide what matters, where to focus and what to do next. Strategy can stand alone, or connect research to a brand, a service, a campaign or a working system.

Define the direction

Clarify who the work serves, what it needs to change and where to focus.
Open details

Give the work a clear purpose and a practical direction.

We bring the question, audience, evidence and desired outcome into one brief. That can shape a company, a service, a brand, a campaign or a product; it does not have to lead to a software build.

Research and strategy can be complete commissions on their own. We agree the question, deliverables and fixed fee before work begins.

What is included

  • A defined audience, problem and intended outcome
  • A clear purpose and positioning for the work
  • A strategy brief with assumptions and decision criteria

Choose the priorities

Compare the tradeoffs and decide what deserves attention first.
Open details

Turn competing possibilities into reasoned choices.

When several approaches look promising, we compare them against the outcome, available resources and evidence. Recommendations show their reasoning, including what would change our view.

Research and strategy can be complete commissions on their own. We agree the question, deliverables and fixed fee before work begins.

What is included

  • A comparison of options and tradeoffs
  • Recommended priorities with their reasoning
  • A record of decisions, dependencies and open questions

Plan the next moves

Translate a direction into milestones, responsibilities and useful checks.
Open details

Make the strategy usable in the real work.

We shape the agreed direction into a plan people can act on. That might be a launch, an operating change, a communication plan or a first experiment. The plan names what happens next and how progress will be assessed.

Research and strategy can be complete commissions on their own. We agree the question, deliverables and fixed fee before work begins.

What is included

  • A sequenced plan and defined milestones
  • Responsibilities and resources to agree
  • Progress checks and the first useful action or test

Standalone commissions

Agree the scope.
Then fix the fee.

Each commission includes its described planning, delivery and handoff. A “From” price is a starting point; the written proposal fixes the fee for your scope. Whole local-business projects have their own illustrative budgets.

One of our brainstorms / A painting business

What if a painter had
a custom digital toolkit?

This is an example of how we explore a business idea. Imagine quotes based on room details, color previews a customer can compare, and a plan that carries the approved scope into the job. The mockups below illustrate that brainstorm; building it would need its own brief, feasibility checks and agreed scope.

How a commission works

Scope, payment
and acceptance.

We can investigate a question, develop a strategy, create a brand system or build software. We can lead the work, work alongside your team or teach the methods the team will use.

  1. Start with a free fit conversation.

We establish whether there is a worthwhile problem we can solve. You do not need a finished technical brief.

  2. Review a concrete, fixed-price proposal.

Your proposal names the business problem, finished result, deliverables, fixed fee and how completion will be demonstrated.

  3. Agree payment milestones.

For smaller commissions, 50% to begin and 50% on acceptance. Larger work uses defined milestones agreed in the proposal.

  4. Receive reviewed work and a handoff.

We check the agreed result against your brief: trace findings to sources, review a plan against its decision criteria, check brand assets or test software. Your scope defines the review, documentation and handoff.

  5. A 30-day correction window.

For software, defects in the agreed functionality are covered for 30 days. Research, strategy and brand commissions state their review and correction terms in the proposal. Additional objectives receive a separate fixed proposal.

Ongoing costs are visible before approval. Software, hosting and usage charges are identified separately. Optional continuing work has stated deliverables and its own agreed fee.
